Alien Contact Sheets

Selecting which photos to use during production is a winnowing process. We pick shots off the contacts, they get blown up, then from those blow ups, we pick the ones which will actually get used. The stack of photos I have -- think its easily a couple thousand -- was digitized in one fell swoop. I didn't look at them when they were being digitized. I arbitrarily pick a very small thumbnails and upload. Sometimes I'm surprised at the image I see when the photo is uploaded.

Judge Dredd Miniatures

Miniature looks pretty unspectacular when it's just there, blah... but when it's lit, with a moody ambiance, and the lights are working, everything changes. 'Course, the same could be said of people. We look better in the right presentation.

Another before. This miniature is a lot more developed. Look at the frames around the window or the open windows.

A miniature can look pretty blah, but once you got some dramatic lights on it, suddenly, you can add depth and drama.

All the windows needed lights so that the buildings looked real.
